TheNinjaGirl01 ::: Favorites I think this idea of balance relates not only to equilibrium (which makes us feel as though things are "right") but also our sense of justice. 07-06-07 19:39:51 _____________________________________________________
ajfsx ::: Favorites it is simple god made everyone equal. it is inherently in us to believe that way because god put that there and it is obvious that is the case in life and religion probably introduced this fact. 07-06-07 23:51:04 _____________________________________________________
ChildofRain ::: Favorites Well there are ppl that believe those things happen as a result of our evil actions in past lives (karma). 07-06-07 23:56:58 _____________________________________________________
rwsmith29456 ::: Favorites Interesting. There is always the idea that it is better to give than receive. However, if it is the ONLY apple that I have, I don't think I would be able to give it away! I'm sure there are those who give more than they receive, regardless of creed. It seems the world has three types. Those who give, those who take and those that sit on their butts. 07-06-08 01:15:05 _____________________________________________________
kanidana ::: Favorites You didn't actually just say that. You just repeated what I just said in a different way. People do want so much for anything to be real, especially in the case of religion. And actually, animals don't have wants for the most part....usually just needs. There are a few exceptions, but the majority of animals are driven by need...not want. Want is really what separates us from the lower animals. 07-06-11 22:46:20 _____________________________________________________
ThermodynamicClock ::: Favorites You're an idiot. If an animal wants to move its legs, that's a want. Yeah they do want religion to be real, why do you think they stray away from logic(that's why)? Wants is a general term. It's part of having a choice. Animals do actually think you imbecile, they don't think in language like us, but they obviously think in pictures. Your theory falls apart like a strawman, just give up. 07-06-12 13:12:11 _____________________________________________________
JaneCochran ::: Favorites Reason 1: for a sense of security. EG, a friend of mine was deeply religious & with othes of like mind until she was brutally beaten & raped. But God didn't let that happen to good people: yet she's a good person. Unable to reconcile this, she lost her friends because she was evidence that their belief was a lie and they couldn't handle it. (Btw, I saw people thank God when some coal miners were thought alive, but no one cursed God when it turned out they were actually dead.) 07-06-13 17:50:56 _____________________________________________________
JaneCochran ::: Favorites Reason 2: psychology. EG, the "business lunch." The exchange of gifts between rulers and powers that be, too (in these times, it's often called special interests). You can see it in dating all the time, too. I've learned to beware of the kindness of strangers, because too many will decide that they can in turn lay claim to my life if I accept their gift, even to the point of trying to rape me to get what was "owed." Most aren't that extreme, but the principle behind it is all too common. 07-06-13 17:54:56 _____________________________________________________
Fidokrab ::: Favorites Come on man, put a shirt on or something. Other than that, good points. 07-06-15 23:25:56 _____________________________________________________
