Description:

"This aint no Hollywood movie". A film by Danish Director Asger Leth. "The story of young armed men from the Haitian slums being used for political purposes. It is a testament of desparate dreams in a ghetto world where dog eats dog. It is the story of a brothers love and a brothers hate. Cain and Abel. With hip-hop and rap music as an existential part of their desperate hope for survival in Cité Soleil - the most dangerous place on earth;"

I saw this film this past weekend and was VERY disappointed. The whole thing was like a long music video (or "Making of") for Haitian 2pac. The film didn't focus on the conditions of Cite Soleil, the chimeres themselves, the politics was only the backdrop...and the action scenes in the trailer above are the only action scenes in the film. It looks like the director fell for 2Pac just like the French "relief worker" did, and promised him he'd make a film about him.

Im at Babson College, The number 1 school for entrepreneurship in the World. And one of the top overall business school in the world. I think that this will not only prove my point in our previous topic, but it will also back me up that you are making up your own figure of speech.

Aha! So you do not represent the educated. I guess then that you just represent the rich. Thank you for showing everyone that they aren't one and the same.

In any language getting away with murder means getting away with murder.. you get your english straight. You made up your own figure of speech.

I think you need to get a better grasp of the English language before you choose to debate in a public forum - in English no less. The phrase "get away with murder" is a figure of speech in this country...look it up or ask somebody. And who exactly do you suggest I'm "hating" on? who are youy representing?

Are you crazy man! murder! dude you have no idea what you are talking about... and i bet you dont even live in haiti.. The rich are generally better businessmen because they have the money to be educated. And what are you talking about who is gonna work for them for minimum wage.. Haiti is 80% unemployed. Even if 60% of those people found jobs.. that leaves 20% of the people that will be willing to work for minimum wage..

The rich in Haiti aren't necessarily better businessmen; they're in a climate that allows them to get away with MURDER. And they're not going to close down their businesses because they have to pay a minimum wage...they're too damn greedy. Who the hell else are they going to get to work for them for even the minimum wage...unless they plan to bring back slavery.

i'm sure it'll play well to racist audiences in the western 'democracies' happy to crush anyones aspirations for self-determination. but to the global majority, the lies and propaganda will be familiar. much better movies include "aristide and the endless revolution" and (although older) "bitter cane".
