BOBIzizou87 ::: Favorites 2007-11-27 18:22:55 When I was a kid really liked the Melvin Burgess - The Cry of the Wolf. Its his first published book. Now idk if it is child book or something not sure... I bought trilogy - The Lord of the Rings - started reading it like twice and came near to the end of 1st one and always something came up... so I never read it. And I really like to read travel journey/diary. Take care __________________________________________________

13thDimension ::: Favorites 2007-11-27 19:43:00 I just finished book 4 of Harry Potter....I recommend them for a fun read...they have an uncanny ability to bring you right in and keep you up late :) ...and although they are "kids" books, the books themselves mature a bit as her writing style evolves over the different books.... __________________________________________________
13thDimension ::: Favorites 2007-11-27 19:51:01 I'm finishing "Thus spoke Zarathustra" by Nietzsche....I don't recomend it....I do however recomend anything by Kurt Vonnegut...one of my favorite authors: witty, funny, and a deep sense of ironic tragedy...be careful of his later works before you've read some of his earlier stuff, or nothing will make sense.... __________________________________________________
qiranger ::: Favorites 2007-11-27 19:52:26 Thanks for the recommendations! __________________________________________________

Furnifur ::: Favorites 2007-11-27 20:26:28 I like to be doin' the book learnin'. I'm reading a guide on medical issues of your dog, helps me teach Tuffy house training, so far so good. And also a book a fried got me hooked on is Wicked. before it was a play. __________________________________________________
cim75 ::: Favorites 2007-11-27 22:13:42 A book I can recommend is the biography that Janis Joplin's sister Laura wrote about her. I'm a big fan of Janis' music, it means a lot to me, and to see the perspective of her life and fame, trials and tribulations seen through her sister's eyes is great. It makes use of the letters Janis sent to her family while she was on tour. Worth a look. The cover has changed through the different printings, but it's called Love, Janis by Laura Joplin. __________________________________________________
Stuka87 ::: Favorites 2007-11-27 22:18:29 I am in between books right now. I generally read fantasy and sci-fi stuff. Although I am semi picky about the fantasy stuff. My favorite book series is The Vorkosigan Series by Lois McM<aster Bujold. If you like Sci-Fi books that have REALLY deep characters with some crazy plot twist, and the technology is not the main point of the story, read this series. Its a bit on the long side (I think its 11 books) but its well worth it! __________________________________________________ |
