jrdaly83 ::: Favorites 2007-08-14 19:24:48 Removing these files can be tricky and difficult, if you aren't experience in it, I would recommend you have someone who knows computers do it. Do NOT go to Best Buy geek squad or any other large chain's computer service department. They will charge you an absurd amount of money for what a neighborhood kid would happily do for little to no money. __________________________________________________
jrdaly83 ::: Favorites 2007-08-14 19:23:27 Spyware can be removed via the "add/remove programs" utility found under the control panel, as wells as utilizing the services tab within WindowsXP. If your computer was infected before you ever installed a virus scan, you could be out of luck and would need to wipe the hard drive clean. However, there is a chance that if the virus you have is old enough, a newly installed virus scanner could remove it. In addition, your computer may not be able to remove the newest viruses. __________________________________________________
jrdaly83 ::: Favorites 2007-08-14 19:22:05 This "system alert" icon in itself could be a form of adware, malware or spyware, unless its coming from an anti-virus software package you installed yourself. If the icon is the red or yellow shield that Windows XP alerts, this is usually just a signal that one, your computer firewall is inactive, two; you don't have a Anti-virus program installed, or three there is malware detected by Windows. __________________________________________________
