Our ancestors would *not* have had such elaborate celebrations , but it doesn't matter what they did in ancient times. Samhain is a time for celebrating our dead ancestors. If you want to follow the Traditions , honor your dead at this time. You must also do some more studying. Samhain is also the Celtic "New Year" !
